Program Description:
This program focus on introductory topics, including facial treatments and facial massage, and infection control and disorders.
The students can explore the practical skills of a skin care professional, introducing them to the treatment environment, basic facial treatments, and the technology likely to be performed in the salon or spa setting.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this program the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:
Assess and evaluate clients’ facial skin conditions with knowledge learned in class on facial surface anatomy, skin properties, and skin decontamination,
Develop treatment proposals and protocols with selection and application of creams, lotions, oils, and other skincare products to meet clients’ facial skincare needs,
Apply hands-on skills to massage and treat the face and neck with cosmetic preparations, and
Apply infection prevention and control procedures that meet health and safety requirements.
