Program Description:
This program provides esthetics students with foundamental knowledge on the science of high-intensity focused ultrasound treatments for skin laxity, specific considerations and treatment procedures for different areas including the face, neck and décolletage.
Students will be provided with actual hands-on high-intensity focused ultrasound treatment opportunities using state of the art Ulthera system, which is the only high-intensity focused ultrasound device approved by Health Canada for non-invasive dermatological aesthetic treatment to lift the eyebrow, lift lax submental (beneath the chin) and neck tissue, and improve lines and wrinkles of the décolletage. Practice of treatments and application of safety procedures will be the core throughout the entire course. This course enables students to perform in the capacity of medi-aesthetic high-intensity focused ultrasound technician in the medi-spa setting.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this program the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:
Assess and evaluate clients’ skin conditions with knowledge learned in class on skin anatomy, and skin properties,
Develop high-intensity focused ultrasound treatment proposals,
Undertake proper high-intensity focused ultrasound treatment safety procedures to enhance clients’ safety,
Apply hands-on skills to perform high-intensity focused ultrasound treatments for non-invasive dermatological aesthetic treatment to lift the eyebrow, lift lax submental (beneath the chin) and neck tissue, and improve lines and wrinkles of the décolletage, and
Apply infection prevention and control procedures that meet health and safety requirements.
